Dynamic Breathwork.

What is it?

Breathwork has risen tremendously in popularity over the past five years. The term “breathwork” can be used to describe a wide variety of modern Pranayama, which is inherited from the ancient Yogic practices found in India.

We use two different types of breath work within our experiences. The first type is nose breathing and is used as a way to physically warm up the body and open up the energy centers running from our pelvic floor to our throat. This will allow you easier access to feel and express emotion in the more dynamic portion of the breath experience. The second type is more dynamic with full open mouth breathing which will help you disconnect from your egoic mind and drop into deeper states of consciousness. It is in this portion of the program, where most people will have a more transcendent experience. No experience or certain level of yoga/fitness is necessary, everyone will have their own experience based on where their body wants to go on that day.

The process itself uses very simple means: it combines accelerated breathing with evocative music in a special set and setting. With the eyes closed and lying on a mat, each person uses their own breath and the music in the room to enter a non-ordinary state of consciousness.

This state activates the natural inner healing process of the individual’s psyche, bringing the seeker a particular set of internal experiences. With the inner healing intelligence guiding the process, the quality and content brought forth is unique to each person and for that particular time and place. While recurring themes are common, no two sessions are ever alike.

Yes, this is indeed a big list, and you might find it hard to believe, as did I until I made the decision to try it. Throughout many years of practice, I have never cried so hard, screamed so loud, or felt so at peace in my heart as I have in breath work experience. It doesn't matter what I or anyone else says about Breathwork, it is experiential and something you must try to believe.

Things to know before the experience….

  • A heads up, you will want to have an empty stomach.

  • No food or drink other than just some light water or fruit juice, however not too much and not near your session.

  • That means it is best to have no food 3 hours prior to our session.

  • Wear loose clothes ... no tight clothing or belts.... so you can easily and fully breathe.

  • Have an eye mask or covering to keep the light out and allow you to stay with your breath. Your eyes should be covered.

  • Please have a blanket that you can use to cover yourself should you become cold during your session. A pillow is also nice, but not necessary.

  • If you do have any minor back stiffness it might be good to bring an extra bolster to our under your legs. We will have some available but it is first come, first serve.

  • The overall theme is to take care of yourself. This is a journey into you. Bring whatever you feel that would help you relax, feel safe, and have an amazing experience.
